IP Address Checker

Look up geolocation, timezone, and network details for any IPv4 or IPv6 address.

What the IP checker shows

Leave the field empty to look up the address your browser is connecting from, or paste any public IPv4 or IPv6 address. The result lists the city, region, country, postal code, time zone, coordinates and the network (ASN and organisation) that the address is registered to.

The lookup runs on our server against a public IP geolocation database. We don't store the addresses you look up.

Using it to check a proxy

Send one request through your proxy to any "what is my IP" endpoint, copy the address it reports, and paste it here. If the country and network match what you asked for (for example, a German residential ISP for a line targeted at DE), the targeting is working. Run it on a few lines: rotating proxies should give you a different address on each request, sticky sessions the same address until the session ends.

The network name is the quickest way to tell proxy types apart. Residential and mobile exits belong to consumer ISPs and mobile carriers; datacenter exits belong to hosting companies.

How accurate is IP geolocation?

Country is usually right. City is an estimate: databases infer it from how address blocks are registered and routed, so a mobile or residential address can show a nearby city, the ISP's regional hub, or the capital. Treat the coordinates as the centre of an area, not a street address. If a site disagrees with this result, it is probably using a different database.

Questions

Does this work for IPv6 addresses?

Yes. Paste a full IPv6 address; the same fields are returned when the database has data for that block.

Why does my city look wrong?

City-level geolocation is inferred from registration and routing data, so it often points to the ISP's nearest hub rather than where you are. Country and network are far more reliable.
