What are datacenter proxies?
A datacenter proxy uses an IP address owned by a cloud or hosting provider rather than an internet service provider. Those addresses sit on high-bandwidth server infrastructure, so they tend to be fast and consistent, and because hosting ranges are public, protected websites can recognise them easily.
BuyProxy's Datacenter IPv4 product is billed per GB, not per IP. Instead of paying a monthly fee for each address, you top up bandwidth and draw from the pool, which suits jobs where it does not matter which exact address you get.
Be aware of one pricing quirk: on BuyProxy, Datacenter IPv4 costs the same per GB as Core Residential. So cost alone is not a reason to choose datacenter for a target that blocks hosting ranges. It makes sense for IPv4-only, unprotected targets where raw speed is the priority.
Why datacenter IPs are easy to detect
Hosting and cloud providers publish the address ranges they own, and anti-bot systems maintain lists of them. A request from a datacenter range therefore starts with a lower trust score before any behavioural check runs. Protected e-commerce, search, social and ticketing sites commonly challenge or block that traffic.
Unprotected targets, public datasets and APIs generally do not care, which is where datacenter proxies shine: fast, steady and cheap.
IPv4 scarcity and why per-GB billing helps
IPv4 addresses are a finite resource: ARIN's free pool was depleted on 24 September 2015, which is why datacenter IPv4 proxies have traditionally been rented one address at a time, at a monthly fee each.
Per-GB billing removes that model. You do not reserve addresses, and you pay only for the data that moves, which suits bursty or exploratory work where you do not know how many IPs you need.
Test your target before you scale
Before spending a large budget, compare a proxied request with a direct one. If the proxied response is a 403, a CAPTCHA or a much smaller body, the target is treating datacenter traffic differently.
A simple check is: curl -s -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}" -x "http://USER:PASS@HOST:PORT" https://example.com/ against the same command without -x. Our proxy testing guide includes a script that repeats this at scale and records success rate and timing.

Datacenter IPv4 Proxies pricing
Pay per GB with no per-IP fees. Credits never expire, and top-ups of 100 GB or more add a 10% bonus. Prices below are read live from our rate card.
Datacenter IPv4 Proxies
$0.99/GB
- Pay-as-you-go, no subscription

Prefer a monthly plan?
Plans include GB every month, credited to your Core Residential balance, and bring the effective residential rate down. Datacenter IPv4 Proxies keeps its own balance, funded by top-ups.

What people use datacenter proxies for
Public data and open APIs
Targets that do not block hosting ranges.
Uptime and link checks
Check your own sites from IPs other than your office address.
Bulk fetching of non-sensitive pages
Jobs where speed matters more than blending in.
Internal tooling and QA
Tests that need an IP other than your own.
A baseline for comparison
Test datacenter first, then move up to ISP or residential only if the target blocks it.
Read the guideIs datacenter ipv4 proxies the right choice?
A good fit when
- Unprotected targets and public data
- Speed-sensitive bulk jobs
- Teams that want per-GB billing instead of per-IP rentals
Not the best fit when
- Protected e-commerce, search, social and ticketing sites that block hosting ranges
- Account-based work where a flagged IP is costly
- Jobs that need one fixed IP (this product is pooled, not dedicated)

| Type | Price/GB | Min | Trust | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core Residential | $0.99 | $5.00 | High | Rotating residential IPs with country targeting — the everyday workhorse pool. |
| Premium Residential | $2.99 | $5.00 | Higher | Our best residential pool — city-level targeting, sticky sessions and priority routing. |
| ISP Rotating | $1.49 | $5.00 | Medium-high | Rotating ISP proxies across a large static-ISP pool — datacenter speed, ISP trust. |
| Mobile Proxies | $3.99 | $5.00 | Highest | Real carrier IPs from mobile networks, with carrier targeting across 100+ countries. |
| Datacenter IPv4 | $0.99 | $5.00 | Low | IPv4 datacenter proxies billed per GB, with no per-IP commitment. |
| IPv6 Proxies | $0.29 | $5.00 | Low | IPv6 datacenter proxies with huge address diversity at the lowest rate per GB. |

What are datacenter proxies?
Datacenter proxies use IPs from hosting providers. They are fast and stable but easy for protected sites to identify, so they suit unprotected targets.
How much do datacenter proxies cost?
Datacenter IPv4 is billed per GB at the live rate on this page with a $5 minimum top-up. On BuyProxy it costs the same per GB as Core Residential, so choose by target, not price.
Do I pay per IP or per GB?
Per GB. There is no per-IP fee: you top up bandwidth and it is drawn down as traffic flows.
Are these dedicated or shared proxies?
This is a pooled product billed per GB, not a dedicated fixed IP.
Will datacenter proxies get blocked?
On protected sites, often, because anti-bot systems maintain lists of hosting ranges. On unprotected targets they work well. Test a small batch first.
Datacenter IPv4 or IPv6, which should I buy?
IPv6 is cheaper per GB but many sites do not accept IPv6 traffic. IPv4 works with everything that speaks IPv4. If your target supports IPv6 and cost is the priority, IPv6 is cheaper.
Are datacenter proxies faster than residential?
Usually, because they run on server infrastructure. Real speed depends on the target and route, so benchmark your own workload.
Do credits expire?
No. Bandwidth you buy pay-as-you-go never expires.
Is there a free trial?
BuyProxy doesn't run a free-trial period. What it does have is a low barrier to testing: pay-as-you-go top-ups start at $5, credits never expire, and new accounts that sign up with a major email provider get a one-time 100MB bandwidth bonus. That is enough to benchmark the network against your own targets before you spend real money.
How can I pay?
Pay-as-you-go top-ups can be paid by card (through Stripe) or with crypto (through NOWPayments). Monthly and yearly plans are card-only. Top-ups of 100 GB or more add a 10% bonus.
