What are IPv6 proxies?
An IPv6 proxy is a datacenter proxy that uses addresses from the IPv6 space instead of the older IPv4 space. IPv6 addresses are 128 bits long, which makes the address space so large that distinct addresses are not scarce the way IPv4 addresses are. That abundance is what lets providers sell IPv6 bandwidth at a much lower price.
BuyProxy's IPv6 product gives you large address diversity billed per GB at the lowest rate in the catalog. The catch is compatibility and trust: a large share of sites still do not accept IPv6 traffic at all, and those that do may treat datacenter IPv6 ranges with suspicion.
That makes IPv6 a tool for specific jobs: high-volume, cost-sensitive work against targets you have confirmed accept IPv6. For account-based or heavily protected targets, residential or ISP proxies are the safer default.
How big the IPv6 address space is
IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses, which allow about 4.3 billion unique addresses. IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses, which allow roughly 3.4 followed by 38 zeros. At that scale, individual addresses are not scarce, which is why providers can offer IPv6 bandwidth with far more address diversity and at a much lower price.
Diversity helps against per-IP rate limits, because each request can come from an address that has not been seen before.
Check whether your target supports IPv6
A proxy can only help if the target is reachable over IPv6. Check for an AAAA DNS record, for example with dig AAAA example.com, and test reachability with curl -6 -I https://example.com/. If there is no AAAA record or the request fails, an IPv6 proxy will not work for that target.
Even when a site supports IPv6, it may treat datacenter IPv6 ranges with suspicion, so run a small test before committing a large budget.
Where IPv6 proxies fit in your stack
Use IPv6 for high-volume, cost-sensitive jobs against confirmed-compatible, unprotected targets, and for testing IPv6 reachability of your own services. Do not use it for logins, checkouts or heavily protected sites, where residential or ISP proxies are the safer default.
The practical approach is a tiered setup: IPv6 for the bulk of easy traffic, Core Residential for targets that block hosting ranges, and Premium or Mobile only where they pay for themselves. See the proxy type decision guide for how to split traffic.

How to buy IPv6 proxies
- 1
Check your target supports IPv6
Many sites still do not. Confirm before you spend a larger budget.
- 2
Create an account and top up IPv6
Top up from $5. IPv6 has its own balance.
- 3
Generate lines
Choose the protocol in the dashboard or API.
- 4
Run a small test
Confirm acceptable success rates on the target, then scale.
What people use IPv6 proxies for
High-volume jobs on IPv6-friendly targets
Where bandwidth cost dominates and the target accepts IPv6.
Public data collection
Fetching open data where IP reputation matters little.
Load and connectivity testing
Testing IPv6 reachability of your own services from many addresses.
Bulk non-sensitive fetching
Large downloads of pages that do not defend against automation.
Cost-first experiments
Prototype a collection job cheaply before moving to a pricier type.

Read the guideIs ipv6 proxies the right choice?
A good fit when
- High-volume, cost-sensitive jobs on IPv6-friendly targets
- Public, unprotected data collection
- Testing IPv6 reachability of your own services
Not the best fit when
- Account-based, login-heavy or checkout flows
- Targets that do not accept IPv6 at all
- Heavily protected sites that distrust datacenter ranges

| Type | Price/GB | Min | Trust | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core Residential | $0.99 | $5.00 | High | Rotating residential IPs with country targeting — the everyday workhorse pool. |
| Premium Residential | $2.99 | $5.00 | Higher | Our best residential pool — city-level targeting, sticky sessions and priority routing. |
| ISP Rotating | $1.49 | $5.00 | Medium-high | Rotating ISP proxies across a large static-ISP pool — datacenter speed, ISP trust. |
| Mobile Proxies | $3.99 | $5.00 | Highest | Real carrier IPs from mobile networks, with carrier targeting across 100+ countries. |
| Datacenter IPv4 | $0.99 | $5.00 | Low | IPv4 datacenter proxies billed per GB, with no per-IP commitment. |
| IPv6 Proxies | $0.29 | $5.00 | Low | IPv6 datacenter proxies with huge address diversity at the lowest rate per GB. |

What is an IPv6 proxy?
An IPv6 proxy is a datacenter proxy that uses IPv6 addresses. The huge IPv6 address space gives large diversity at a low price, but not every site accepts IPv6 traffic.
How much do IPv6 proxies cost?
IPv6 is billed per GB at the live rate on this page, the lowest in the BuyProxy catalog, with a $5 minimum top-up.
Why are IPv6 proxies cheaper than IPv4 or residential?
IPv6 addresses are not scarce the way IPv4 addresses are, so providers can offer far more IPs per dollar. The trade-off is lower trust and compatibility gaps.
Will every website work with IPv6 proxies?
No. A large share of sites still do not accept IPv6 traffic. Confirm your target supports it before buying a large amount.
Are IPv6 proxies good for scraping?
For targets that accept IPv6 and do not defend against automation, yes. For protected targets, residential or ISP proxies are safer.
IPv6 or datacenter IPv4?
IPv6 is cheaper per GB but compatibility is narrower. IPv4 works with everything that speaks IPv4 and costs more per GB on BuyProxy.
Do IPv6 credits expire?
No. Bandwidth bought pay-as-you-go never expires.
Can I use my plan's GB for IPv6?
No. A plan's monthly GB is credited to Core Residential. IPv6 has its own balance funded by top-ups.
Is there a free trial?
BuyProxy doesn't run a free-trial period. What it does have is a low barrier to testing: pay-as-you-go top-ups start at $5, credits never expire, and new accounts that sign up with a major email provider get a one-time 100MB bandwidth bonus. That is enough to benchmark the network against your own targets before you spend real money.
How can I pay?
Pay-as-you-go top-ups can be paid by card (through Stripe) or with crypto (through NOWPayments). Monthly and yearly plans are card-only. Top-ups of 100 GB or more add a 10% bonus.
